Client requirement

SBB has the complex task to uniform more than 35,000 employees from over 2,000 units and departments every day, protecting them as best as possible with equipment and making them clearly recognisable to customers as SBB employees.

In the past, employees had to find the right and appropriate outfit from hundreds of products of clothing in the classic clothing store. SBB had to order and stock large quantities of clothing for this purpose. The selection and fitting-out process was time consuming and the individual completeness was hardly traceable. Double and multiple purchases or overspending were not uncommon.

A lack of transparency and analysis prevented an optimisation of the purchasing processes. Ideally, a new solution had to make all digital clothing and equipment management tools easily accessible to other public transport companies. Thus, SBB fulfilled a double role as customer and supplier at the same time.

ZUGSEIL.BEST has been operating a fully digital clothing store for SBB since 2017, which reliably organises all clothing and equipment management processes. Via the personal dashboard of ZUGSEIL.BEST, employees are informed directly and clearly about all ordering options and needs. The employees can independently order online around the clock according to the rules set by SBB and view their budget.

In addition, the clothing centre in Olten as a classic clothing store has been comprehensively digitalised with all functions including measuring of special sizes, returns, exchange processes up to the lining with ZUGSEIL.BEST. Appointments for the clothing store are now simply made digitally. Furthermore, with our optimised system, deliveries are also possible without the need for a visit to the clothing store. This option saves further resources.

With ZUGSEIL.BEST SBB achieved with full transparency of its equipment processes and its capital commitment in the clothing segment. This made it possible to reduce stock levels and capital commitment, minimise incorrect expenditure and avoid bottlenecks.
